Rationale: Solar magick is generally defined in four categories. First, Ego magick, which affects self-image. The second is Charisma while the third is Laughter-Creativity. This ritual concerns itself with the forth manifestation of solar consciousness which is Assertion/Dominance. There are times when the magickian will want the ability to assert their will on or dominate a situation or individual. In pre-Christian Mithraic liturgies, the symbolism of a "Solar Phallus" or "Penis of the Sun" is invoked and admired. Crowley called this concept "Hadit", the source of light and life – the secret seed whereby the miracle of incarnation is accomplished. The Freudian view of the penis associates it with power, assertion and dominance. In function, the penis (or Phallus) is aggressive and penetrating (dominant), while the Vagina (or sheath) is submissive and penetrated (dominated or conquered). Therefore the association of the Solar Phallus for these purposes may be exceptionally potent.

Objective: To manifest Solar Consciousness for the purpose of assertion/domination of a situation or individual.

Preparation: If trying to affect an individual, create a doll or sigil representing the person. Traditional Voodoo methods work well if you have access to personal effects such as hair or fingernails; however they are quite unnecessary if the Phallus energy is directed properly. If trying to effect a situation, a sigil representing the situation, or some item related to it will do. If you have access to Solar incense, it makes a nice addition to the ritual. This ritual should be performed nude – there should be no clothed participants if you are working in a group. When this energy is invoked, constriction, hesitation and conservatism will antagonize it. This ritual represents a fusion of theurgy, voodoo, sex magick and sexual alchemy techniques.
