The Symbolic L.B.R.P.
(the opinion of the Morning Star GD group)
As the new initiates of the Mysteries proceed with their Neophyte curriculum,
they are presented with the Pentagram Ritual. At the turn of the century, it
would have been almost the only ritual that was given to the Outer Order.
Many today might laugh at the simplicity of the ritual, and would consider it
absurd, working on only one ritual for a year. But the true power of such a
ceremony remained a secret in the hands of the Adepts. For once the full power
of the Pentagram is used, it becomes a potent armor in the hands of the
magician.
In looking at
its obvious effects, it is a source of balance at all times, even when the
emotions run uncontrolled and it is still performed. Also done in the morning,
purifying our auras from all negative impurities, it allows the day to truly be
fresh and new start. It extends the aura of the magician, allowing his personal
sphere of power to expand.
Magically
speaking, it is the true circle, a representation of the unity of God; the unity
between the Microcosm and the Macrocosm, the Alpha and the Omega. Such a circle
allows the magician to proceed onto the higher planes and magical workings.
These are just a few of the very obvious benefits of this ritual, but unlike
what it appears to be, its power lies not only in the final result, but in
another step.
First, the
magician must visualize himself/herself growing larger and larger until he fills
the entire universe. Here is a practice technique for the Inner Order (Rising in
the Planes). It also realizes the action, "There is no part of me not of
the Gods," and the line from the 0 = 0 Initiation, "I am the only
being in an abyss of darkness... "
After the
magician assures that the ball of light is strong above his/her head, for unless
that is securely available, unless the magician focuses on the highest point of
spiritual attainment, the L.B.R.P. would not be able to invoke the desired
force. Focusing on the higher, the Qabalistic Cross is performed. The Qabalistic
Cross serves to make the magician the center of his/her universe and to balance
out different elements in his/her aura. Also the words uttered are an
affirmation of the link between the Microcosm man and his Higher Self. It also
becomes a first step in the uniting with the aspects of the Osirified magician.
It is sad to see many rush through the above steps, robbing themselves of the
power boost and spiritual calming it provides.
The next steps
that involve the drawing of the Pentagram, a symbol of the perfected man and
also of Mars and strength, the Sign of the Enterer, that of the avenging God,
Horus, a projective technique. The step forward is a continual declaration of
the stomping on the Qlippoth and the six-inch space, the pursuit of the
attainment of Tiphareth.
The Sign of
Silence is the most powerful defense ritual and meditation that unites us with
the safe, innocent child within. The call of the archangels assists in forming
contact with creatures of the higher plane, for this ritual has been called the
Ritual of the Archangelic Seal or Sealing by Angels by ancient Hermetic
teachers. Also, the attainment is a practice in sensitivity scrying. At this
point, the magician declares the unit of the microcosm around him and the
macrocosm in him, "And for about me flames the pentagram, and within me
shines the six-rayed star."
But how would
the student of the Mysteries increase the power of his L.B.R.P? By performing a
Middle Pillar first, deep breathing while vibrating and projecting, and spending
some time feeling the energy of the Archangels, and maintaining the Kether
sphere bright at all times.
At this point, I'll leave the practitioner to discover additional techniques, and truly it is the only ritual the initiate needs to perform to develop the needed skills of Adepthood.
